Our History

The congregation built its first church in 1859 in the village then known as Oakland, later renamed Mountainhome. The church served the growing community and resort area, with a belfry added to the structure in 1890.

Situated in the heart of Barrett Township, the church has long been a part of the local community’s history, often associated with the early development of the Cresco and Mountainhome area.  The church remains an active part of the community on Route 390 in Cresco.
